We carried out a full refurbishment of the terminal building, transforming the existing appliance bay into a new café area and adding a purpose-built extension to house the café seating.
The café kitchen was refitted with new worktops and equipment throughout, and a new terrace was constructed along the beach elevation, creating a striking new front for the building. As part of the works, the main entrance was relocated from the roadside to this beach-facing terrace, giving visitors a more welcoming approach.
Structurally, a steel-framed extension was erected to the front of the new café, with the existing external wall removed to open up the floor area. The café floor was raised to match the level of the adjoining terminal, and a new opening was formed between the two spaces to allow easy pedestrian flow throughout the building. Externally, a new ramp was installed to ensure accessible movement into both the terminal and café.
